Korean Bibimbap Guksu Bowl

INGREDIENTS

Julienne carrots ½ cup

Julienne scallions ¼ cup

A handful of beansprouts

Sautéed mushrooms ½ cup

A handful of blanched beans

Beef mince ½ cup

Rice noodles, boiled 1 cup

1 egg

Sesame seeds to sprinkle

Sun Hee Doenjang 2 tbsp

Light soy sauce 2 tbsp

Water 2 tbsp

Sun Hee Gochujang 1 tbsp

Mirin 1 tbsp

Cooking oil 1 tbsp

METHOD

  1. Add oil to a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the beef mince, gochujang paste, mirin, and salt to taste. Cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle some water and cover. Cook for another 7-8 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, place to the side off the heat.
  4. To make the sauce, heat a saucepan over medium heat. Add the doenjang, light soy sauce and two tablespoons of water.
  5. Mix well to form a thin sauce. Place to the side off the heat.
  6. To assemble the dish, add the boiled rice noodles to a bowl. Layer the julienne carrots, julienne scallions, beansprouts, sauteed mushrooms, blanched beans, and cooked beef mince, on top of the noodles.
  7. Place a fried egg on top and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot with a helping of Sun Hee Doenjang sauce and Sun Hee Kimchi.
